If you walked into my office, you’d be lucky if you could see my desk. A lot of preparing for a lot of things is going on, seems like all at once.
- Pizza with Primate for the youth in the area on March 29
- Okema Banquets – April 1st (Prince Albert) & April 8th (Saskatoon)

- A visioning session with one of our parishes happening April 4-9
- Diocesan Sunday School Teachers Conference in June

- SMYC in August
Most of the pieces are all there…they’re just waiting for that last piece to make everything fit.
As I type this, I’m listening to a new CD that I just bought and downloaded — "The Cure" by Reana. It’s great! I’ve never heard anything by Reana before, just happen to click on the CD and listened to a few songs, and thought is was great!
"But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere." — James 3:17
hey Shawn – I see that YC 2006 is possibly on your schedule; it might be tight but maybe we can hook up for a bit if you are coming to Edmonton.
I’m such a jerk-
Pizza with the Primate? Banquets? Workshops? Visioning Sessions? All vitally important things Shawn- but I’m so glad there’s only “22” days left. This kinda goes along with our camping ministry conversation- I’m kinda frustrated with where youth ministry in general is headed. I hate programs- I hate all fun.. Reed gave us a statistic that said that 50% of people give their heart to the Lord before the age of 18…so doesn’t that mean that 50% of the church resources should go to youth and childrens ministries? We should stop throwing the kids into the corner during church, stop serving them cupcakes and pizza and telling them to be quiet, maybe the adults need the sunday school. The Church is so selfish because youth don’t bring in any income- we need to be kingdom minded people. I’m just really frustrated. Youth and Children are so capable or doing ministry. We need to release them to pray for one another- to evangelize to their friends at school, to speak prophetically into one another’s lives- I’m sick of what the church has done to youth ministry- WE’RE NOT THE CHURCH OF TOMORROW, WE’RE THE CHURCH OF TODAY. Let’s put the adults in Sunday school classrooms and make them color pictures of Noah’s Ark for the millionth time and drink watered down cool aid and see how they feel!
